As my intention is to know whether the ruling party will occupy the power again, the ascendant should reflect the ruling party whereas the 7th house denotes all the parties contesting against it.
The basic strength of the ascendant will show the effectiveness of the ruling party over the people and vice versa. It is in Taurus in the star of the Moon and sub-division of Rahu. Moon is located in the 10th House in Jupiter star and in it`s own subdivision which is considered to be favorable for the ascendant. We should not forget that Jupiter is in retrograde motion. In my opinion, the significance of a retrograde planet is apparent but may not be actual.
Therefore, Jupiter in the 11th house shows the appearance that people are positive in reality there may be divergence.

Now the sub-Lord of the ascendant is the deciding factor. It is Rahu, located in the 12th house in the star of Venus and in its own subdivision. Rahu is a powerful planet for the 6-7-12 houses. The significance of the 12th house denotes secret activities that may give the upper hand to the ascendant.
Similarly, we should assess the strength of the 7th house. It is in Mars sign Saturn star and Mars Subdivision. Saturn is in the 9th house in the star of Mars and subdivision of Rahu. Mars is in the ascendant in retro and Rahu in the 12th house in the star of Venus in the 6th house. Saturn is showing mixed results for the 7th house and mostly damages their prospects due to the connection of the 6th house. The 9th house denotes the alliance between the opposite parties and hence there may not be good coordination between them that is ultimately advantageous for the ascendant.
The sub-lord Mars in the dual sign Gemini in its own star denotes that there will be more than one opposite party. Further Mars is in the subdivision of Mercury, a strong planet for the 12th house. Therefore, the strength of the opposite party should not be underestimated.

The sub-Lord of the sixth house is Jupiter. It is in the 11th house in the star and subdivision of Saturn, an occupant of the 9th house. Further Saturn is in the star of Mars in the ascendant in Retro position.
This combination is showing possibilities of reduction in the number of wins in the previous election but ultimate success can be achieved! The connection of Mars in the ascendant shows the usage of power in controlling the influence of the opposite parties.
The same readings should be applicable to the 6th house counting from the seventh house (12th house) because its sub-lord is also Jupiter.

The elections are scheduled during the Jupiter-Mars-Rahu period. Jupiter is discussed above; Mars is connected with the 12th house at the sub level which is appearing to be negative but the key is the sub-sub period lord Rahu. It is strongly showing the 6th house supporting the ruling party.

Note that Mars is connected with Rahu which in turn is connected with Venus in the 6th house. So, the results of the 6th house will be experienced during the conjoined periods of Mars and Rahu (More so when Mars is the main period ruler and Rahu is the sub-period ruler/ Mars is sub-period ruler and Rahu is the sub-sub period ruler).
Hence the period is favoring the ruling party.
By the date of the election and its result, the transit of slow-moving planets will remain the same except for Rahu shifting into the subdivision of Mars. The Sun will move into the star of Mercury, a strong planet for 6 and 11 houses. Note that Jupiter ceases retrogration and becomes direct in the 11th house of the horoscope. Transit lends support to the ascendant.

Probability:
Considering the strength of both ascendant and the seventh house we have to predict that there are better chances for the party reflected in the ascendant to have an advantage whereas the parties in the seventh house also do well in comparison with their past performance. My inference is that a non-local party contesting will show surprising results.
