Birth Time Rectification
In KP astrology the success of the predictor is greatly dependent upon the accurate planetary and house positions. A slight change in the birth time will bring a change in the co-rulers of the houses showing all together different predictions. Therefore the authenticity of the birth time is the most important for Natal astrology in the KP system. Thus when there is slightest doubt in your birth time then one should go for birth time rectification which will be an asset for the native in the long term.
Generally, the given birth time may not be so accurate and there may be a need atleast for a minor change or correction. Shri Krishnamurthy and his followers provided numerous illustrations in arriving at the correct birth time up to the seconds. I would like to present what I understood in a step-by-step manner.
- Note the position of ascendant for the time range (starting and ending) given by the client. Observe who will be the ascendant sign Lord/s and starlord/s for the given time range.
- Note the ruling planets for the moment of judgment.
- Segregate the ruling planets on the basis of conjunctions, aspects, node representation etc. Eliminate those planets that are in the stars or subdivisions of retrograde planets. Consider them only when the retrograde planets are in proximity with the Sun.
- Sync the ruling planets ascertained above with the rulers of the ascendant given in the time range.
- If there is disagreement then try to apply replacement of different planets.
- Get a random number between 1 and 249 from the client (or astrologer can also take a seed number) for confirmation and tally the co-rulers of the number with the arrived birth time ascendant. It is very helpful for the confirmation of the rectified birth time.
- Lastly, reconcile some past events of the client with the calculated birth time for the final verification.

A practical example will serve the purpose.
Birth details: DOB- 24-08-1999, TOB : between 4 PM and 5 PM, POB : 16-01 N, 80-51 E.

We will apply the principles step by step as follows:
- Ascendant will transit from the fag end of Sagittarius until the middle of Capricorn for the given time range. That means the ascendant will be between the Jup-Sun-Mars to Sat-Moon-Jup. Therefore the ascendant will transit in three zones co-ruled by Jup-Sun (A), Sat-Sun (B), and Sat-Moon (C).
- Ruling planets for the moment of analysis (17-Dec-2021 at 16:05:39 in 16-14 N, 80-35 E) are Asc: Venus-Moon (with Moon in Asc and Rahu in Asc sign), Moon: Venus-Moon, Day: Venus. So Venus-Moon is Ruling planets.
- Rahu in the sign of ascendant will qualify as a ruling planet. Mars aspecting the ascendant and Moon position will become a ruling planet, Kethu aspected by the moon is a ruling planet too, Saturn associated with Venus and trining the RP Asc and Moon qualifies to be a ruling planet. Therefore nodes replace the moon whereas Saturn replaces Venus. Rahu-Kethu-Saturn-Venus-Moon-Mars are the ruling planets.
- As Jupiter is not a ruling planet (A) can be dropped. The Sun is not a ruling planet but it will find a place due to Rahu, a powerful ruling planet and located in the star of the Sun. (note: as there is no star for Rahu in the sign of Capricorn we can take the Sun which is represented by Rahu in the RP horoscope.). Moon can be dropped as it was represented by both the nodes. Further, the Moon is in the sub of Rahu and completely controlled by the latter. Ultimately the Zone (B) will stand. In that area, we have 6 subdivisions starting from Rahu to Venus. On the basis of strength, place Kethu to be the sub-lord of the ascendant for the reason that it represents Moon and Mars by aspect and conjunction respectively. It is also deposited in the star of Saturn, another ruling planet. Therefore Kethu subdivision and moon sub-sub division was selected for the point of the ascendant. The birth time came to be 04:34:20 PM.
- There is no disagreement as all the ruling planets are reflected in the time range. We had done it to some extent in the case of Rahu above.
- The only doubt left in my mind is about the selection of Kethu as sub Lord. For confirmation I took a random number 167 which lands in the zone of Jup-Ket-Ket! Therefore the doubt was clarified and Ketu to be asc sub-lord is perfectly alright.
- As Ketu, the sub-lord is located in the star of the moon aspected by Saturn from Aries and Mercury from Cancer; I conveyed that native is anxious and wavering in his mind which was absolutely correct. He completed mechanical engineering by April 2021. The fourth house of education is under the control of Mars. It is located in the Jupiter star and Moon sub. The Moon was aspected by Mercury. Both Mercury and Mars are chief planets for engineering. He pursued and completed graduation between Mars-Moon and Rahu-Jupiter periods. Jupiter the 11th sub lord connected with 3-12 houses shows successful completion of studies during its period.
Note: In my experience I found out that the ruling planets at the moment of judgment not only represent the birth ascendant but also the important house of the horoscope regarding which the native is anxious about. In this case the native is concerned about acquiring a job represented by the tenth house of profession. After rectification it was found out that the 10th house is in Venus- Rahu- Sun Zone in Libra duly occupied by Mars and aspected by Saturn. All these planets are ruling at the time of judgment. Readers should throw some light on it and verify for conformity.

Therefore the native was born on a Tuesday with the Moon and Asc in Sun star in Saturn sign perfectly reflected by RPs at the judgment.
Conclusion by birth time rectification:
Finally, based on this rectified time it was predicted that he will get a job during April 2022 (Rahu-Jupiter-Venus-Mercury period) and draw first Salary in May 2022 (Rahu-Jupiter-Sun).
